Film Community Close-up: The Global Film Initiative

At last week's full-bodied screening of Miss Lovely many attendees asked how did we find our Artist in Resident Ashim Ahluwalia and where is it possible to find more culturally diverse films (when it's not our festival season)? Both can be answered by our Miss Lovely co-presenter, The Global Film Initiative (GFI).  Ashim was awarded funds through their granting program (reopening in May!) - which is specific to applicants with films from developing countries - and personally referred by GFI Director of Programs, Santhosh Daniel.  To see more films like Miss Lovely, stay in tune with Global Lens, GFI's distribution series of award-winning feature films from around the world, and visit their Hulu page where select Global Lens films are currently streaming for FREE.

There's also one last Artist in Residence event to attend: Artist Talk: Ashim Ahluwalia, Tuesday, March 5, 5:00
